Mr. Alex started his martial arts training at the age of three, under Hely Perez in Choka-Quin-Ryu. He received his Jr. black belt at the age of ten, before moving to the United States. Upon his arrival, he started training in Tae-Kwon-Do under Grand Master Alexander Song's lineage. In 1996, he received his red belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. Throughout his teen years, he trained in various martial arts such as Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, and Kickboxing. He started his journey into American Kenpo in 2001, and received his 1st degree black belt under Manny Reyes Sr.'s lineage in 2005. He founded Ultimate Kenpo Warriors in May 2007. Soon after he became a second generation student of Senior Grand Master Ed Parker. He has received his 2nd, 3rd and 4th degree black belt under his instructor, Associate Master Ken Herman. With the direct guidance of his instructor, Mr. Alex wishes to pass down Ed Parker’s American Kenpo Karate to future generations… not just the how, but also the why.
Mr. Alex has competed in several tournaments such as the Miami Open, the Pan-Ams, and the Disneyland Festival. He holds many 1st place trophies in Traditional Forms, Traditional Weapons, and Sparring. He has also trained a few state champion competitors such as Anthony Ramirez (KickUSA State Champion), Christopher Sangiorgio (NASKA champion) and Micayla Johnson (NASKA Champions), as well as, several MMA fighters. Alexander hopes to have many more students who will become champions in upcoming competitions.
